Great Condo Grill October 26, 2009

This grill is ideal for a condo or apt where you cannot have a gas grill. I am quite pleased with the heat it develops and the ability to seer a steak, chops, etc. The time it takes is not as long as i thought (10 min), and quickly goes to 6oo-700 degrees on the gauge. I would also suggest the stainless grill as it adds to the whole grilling out thing - much like the big gas stainless grills. The one issue I have, was when I tried to put the self tapping screws into the brackets that form a lip for the top to sit on the base. I still have to correct this as the screws are way to big and nothing wants to line up. This needs to be addressed by Char-Broil. Otherwise, the grill works great.

The subject grill is convenient, easy to use, easy to clean, saves space and provides excellent temperature controls for cooking steaks, chicken and anything else outside while ensuring that it is cooked exactly as you like it. It is soooo better than gas or charcol grills. I rate it 4-stars only because it is annoying to assemble. Nothing technically difficult, but the top of the cooker contains an internal dome-shaped heat shield that is partially held in place by three small metal braces that are attached to the top of the cooker using self-dyeing screws. At least ones of the screws did not attach itself properly. It is a design flaw that could have and should have been changed by the manufacturer. The product represents great value for the miniscule costs involved.
