I got this because I thought having one unit for camping would be easier. However I think that for the price, the design could be better in terms of a thicker gage steel for the bottom drip pan. First it warped. Then after 2 more uses the paint started to flake....Then it rusted a hole exactly 1 year later. That is the design flaw. Now getting it to work with a wide variety of meats is also a tough one. Meats with any kind of fat do not do well. Hamburgers, forget it....they all end up burned and crusted and you are left with a huge mess. Not to mention the rotation issue....even with cooking chicken you have to constantly rotate the meat around. But that is due to the burner design. It can't be helped. However I am used to grilling on a Weber grill and don't ever have to worry about flare-ups or uneven cooking, or rotating for that matter. This is just one of those tings that if you really need a all in one, it's available.....but don't expect high quality. The griddle top far dwarfs this thing in terms of quality and this is disappointing considering the quality of the griddle. I will just have to take my Weber Q100 for the grilling when I camp. The two are not even on the same level.

I use this for both home use and some commercial work. Has performed quite well but it definitely has more than it's fair share of rust. Every time I move it there is rust all over the place. Sure wish it was better quality because it's very portable.

An excellent addition to my Explorer grill. Easy clean up, and with the Carry Bag there is no mess being trailed around.

This is a rather cheap unit. Yes, it works. You must constantly reapply conditioner to the cast iron, that's the easy part. The worst part for me is , after 9 month's of use, the thin drip bottom of the BBQ box is flaking away with rust. Apparently it was only cheaply painted steel, not porcelain like it should be to withstand the heat and drippings of meat. I don't expect it to last more than a season or two. I expect more from a BBQ box than this.
I have yet to contact Camp Chef to see what they'll do, I'm hoping they will offer a solution.

I received this as a complete unit with the 3 burner and was really impressed with the food I prepared on it. Its made so you can add wood chips to the bottom to really enhance the flavor. The bottom is thin metal and warps but it hasn't affected anything. Overall I am very pleased with it.
