| Customer Reviews: Good and Poor March 13, 2010 Ron M (Georgia) Just got it and am having trouble getting a consistent flame from the smaller burner. The large burner seems to work fine. The small burner (which uses a different kind of burner ie. cheaper) does not produce an even flame pattern. It is difficult to get lit since most often it pops and the flame goes back into the venturi section (where the gas injector and damper meet). I have tried a range of setting for the damper (which is the only adjustment) without any consistent success. I am waiting for a response for Camp Chef. More to follow.
Camp Chef Explorer EX-170L January 2, 2010 Happy Camper (Maine) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have used the Camp Chef EX-170L camp stove for many years. My father has this stove and my brother also has this stove. We all love them. We all use them as our primary cook stoves when camping. As a family we like to go camping and quite often the group is 15-20 people large. We set up a cooking area under an EZ-Up tent and these stoves with the high pressure burner cannot be beat for cooking outdoors. I have recently purchased the side shelves for mine. It's winter here so I have not tried them out yet, but I can already tell they to are going to be an awesome addition to my stove.
Camp Stove May 27, 2008 Robert Read (West Michigan) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
The product was shipped fast and price was reasonable. Came with opened box and broke knob. Got a hold of the factory and had knob replaced, But was different one. Was told this was an old stove and had old style valves. Said they were good valves but made change so all stoves had same. Had option to ship it back but found some knobs at my end. So figured it was faster and I wanted to test it on the holiday weekend. Seems to be good stove and hope to get many years of use from it.
