Product Description Cater to your savor of a great smoked flavor! Make delectable treats with the Bradley Original Black Smoker! Here's a unique smoke house, sold complete with its accompanying smoke generator. Flavor bisquettes are burned for 20 minutes each at a consistent temperature in the unit's smoke generator, producing clean, continuous smoke. This eliminates high temperature gases, acids and resins that can distort the flavor of smoked food. It's light enough to carry and is about the size of a small refrigerator. It makes clean tasting food without any aftertaste. While some smokers need to be tended constantly, this one automatically produces clean, cool smoke for up to 8 hours safely. Using the independently controlled internal heating element, the Bradley Original Smoker will also hot smoke, or may be used simply as a slow cooker or slow roasting oven. The low temperature cooking environment is perfect for any smoking project and the infra-red heater source is also particularly well suited for drying fruits. Smoking hot features! Powder epoxy steel exterior, aluminum interior; Internal cooking volume: 2,288 cu. in.; Internal heater: 500 watt cooking element and 125 watt smoking element; Power specifications: 120 volt-60 Hz, 5.5 Amps; Maximum temperature is controllable up to 320 degrees F Thermometer included; 4 adjustable wire racks are included; Comes with user guide, recipe booklet, rectangular tray and drip bowl; Measures 17"w. x 14 1/2"d. x 31"h; weight 40 lbs.; 1-yr.

Good Smoker In Spite of Some Bugs March 5, 2010 G. Robertson (janesville, ca United States) With our local commercial smoker getting increasingly proud of his product, we decided to get a home smoker for ourselves as a belated Christmas gift. When the smoker arrived, I immediately "cured" it per the instructions, and everything seemed to work perfectly. When I tried to smoke some sausages, it was a different story. The smoke generator started advancing the smoking discs like a slot machine paying off in Vegas. I made two calls to customer service, and each time the folks were helpful, trying to give me tips on how I could repair the smoke generator myself. After the third call it was apparent to them that the problem was beyond my capabilities, and they agreed to send me a new smoke generator.
The new replacement part arrived in a timely manner, and I have had no problems since then. I would, however, recommend that if you decide to purchase this somoker, you go the extra expense and get an Auber PID to control the temperature. The existing slide control and temperature guage that come with the Original Bradley Smoker are kind of rinky-dink and make it difficult to control accurate temperatures. The Auber PID solves this problem perfectly.
Even with the initial problems, I think this is a pretty good smoker for the cost, and I have nothing but good things to say about Bradley's customer service department.
Bradley smokers rock February 28, 2010 Robin C. Minielly (Rochester, NY) Consisten temperture, smoke. Makes amazing briquet, ribs, etc. Very economical. Had looked at other more expensive options, and am happy I didn't spend more.
best smoker out there February 23, 2010 M. Canniff (plymouth,in.) I have owned my smoker for 7 years.Best one i ever had, easiest ever to use.Great customer service from Bradley, also has the best smoker forum out there, you got a question those folks will go all out to help, many great recipes on there too.Step by step how to's for all your questions.YOU WILL LOVE THIS SMOKER!
Love my smoker! Worth every penny! February 23, 2010 Rhonda Dodson (Illinois) I received the Bradley BTIS1 Original Fully Automatic 4-Rack Outdoor Food Smoker a few day ago & used it for the first time today on some chicken. I really like this thing & it was easy to set-up & use. I am an experienced griller year round & this was purchased to augment my gas grill. The smoker worked great despite temps around 30F. I was easily able to use it even without previous smoker experience.
I like the fact that it stays cool to the touch on the outside which will be nice when the grandchildren are around. This fact also means that I could set it up on a wooden coffee table to get it off of the ground.
Bradley also has a forum where you can get all kinds of information & recipes to use. The forum members have been great to talk to & are more than willing to answer questions.
Bradley smokers require the use of Bradley wood bisquettes & these cost about $1/hr to burn. They tell me that this is approximately the cost of wood chips that are used in other smokers, but I have no prior experience with that. They have a large variety of wood bisquettes & I also purchased 120 ct. boxes of Mesquite & Apple.
I also purchased the cover for it since it will be sitting on the porch year round.
I have also heard that Bradley's customer service is great, but I have not had to use them because the smoker is working great.
This was a really good buy.
Great idea, barely gets to cooking temperature February 2, 2010 Gabriel Zappia (Portland, Maine) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this smoker, especially the hours of easy smoke.
Con: The heater elements are not adequate. I can only use it in the summer because the heating elements barely attain cooking temperatures on a warm day. On full blast, on a warm day, you'll see 200 degrees in the oven.
The fuel disks are pretty expensive, but that's the price you pay for automation of the smoke machine.
